After coming up as a newspaper reporter (Minneapolis Star Tribune, Boston Globe, Detroit News), I left the corporate world to become independent and nomadic four years ago. Since then, I've spent a couple years slow-traveling through Latin America with a backpack, and a couple more living in a cargo van while cruising across the U.S. and Mexico, staying for long periods in unhoused encampments while reporting and organizing mutual aid for various projects.
Writing interests include housing and homelessness, international politics, Latin American history, U.S. foreign policy and imperialism and intervention.
